Commissioned as a vibrant tribute to his hometown, "Het Nest" (The Nest) is a 130-square-meter mural painted on the facade of the Social House in Bilzen.

The artwork features pigeons, a recurring element in Lindert Steegen's visual language, depicted in a rising motion, spreading their wings among colorful flowers and abstract graphic shapes. The mural serves as a dual narrative: it reflects the journey of personal growth, exploring the wide world, and stepping out into the unknown, while simultaneously symbolizing the comfort of always returning home to one's roots.
