Sekha Music & Arts School
A mural in the music & arts school of Sekha, a small Nepalese village
in the heart of the Himalayas.
During a two-month journey and artist residency traveling across Nepal, I had the opportunity to experience the country, its culture, and its people up close. One of the most special places where I spent time was the mountain village of Sekha, deep in the Himalayas. Here, you will find the Music and Arts School: a unique initiative realized in cooperation with the development organization Cunina and the Tomorrowland Foundation, designed to offer creative opportunities to children in this remote area.
In the central hall, which is the space where students gather every two weeks to showcase their talents, dance, and make music, I was given the opportunity to create a mural that now serves as the permanent backdrop for the stage.
“The result is a vibrant, colorful background that echoes the creativity of the students in a place where art and connection truly come together.”

With little time to overthink, the design was created completely spontaneously and intuitively right on the spot, making the process incredibly exciting and full of energy. I chose to play with the musical soul of the school.
By weaving musical notes into a dynamic composition, they become almost unrecognizable, balancing delicately on the line between abstraction and figuration. The result is a vibrant, colorful background that echoes the creativity of the students in a place where art and connection truly come together.
