Client/Partner: GL$

Commissioned by GLS and covering an impressive 540 square meters, Rise Up completely reimagines Pompstation De Vliet in Puurs-Sint-Amands. Through this massive mural, Lindert Steegen transforms a purely functional, industrial building into a vibrant landmark. By injecting color and dynamic geometric forms into the everyday landscape, the artwork turns an overlooked utility station into a striking visual experience for the entire community.

“it lifts the entire landscape”

- The people

Rise Up showcases Steegen’s signature blend of architecture, graphic design, and spatial geometry. Bold planes of color intersect with sharp, rhythmic lines, creating a sense of movement and upward energy that echoes the title itself. The composition plays with depth and perspective, encouraging viewers to perceive the flat structure as an evolving, multi-dimensional space.

The mural’s powerful visual language gained international acclaim, earning a nomination among the best street art in the world by Street Art Cities. Rise Up stands as a testament to the power of public art: it proves how creative intervention can elevate utility architecture, enrich shared public space, and inspire everyone who passes by.
